We're working with a specialist contractor delivering high-spec cleanroom and controlled environment projects across the pharmaceutical, biotech and advanced manufacturing sectors.


Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are looking to appoint a Project Planner to support project delivery across multiple live projects.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of their planning career, or an established planner looking to gain exposure to structured project controls, site-based delivery, and high-value technical projects.


The Role


The Project Planner will support the planning and project controls function, working closely with project teams to ensure accurate programme development, progress tracking, and reporting.

You will gain exposure across the full project lifecycle, from early planning stages through to delivery and handover.


Key Responsibilities


Programme Development

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project programmes using Primavera P6
  • Support the creation of baseline schedules aligned with project scope and milestones
  • Update programmes in line with project progress and changes


Progress Tracking & Reporting

  • Collect site progress data and update schedules accordingly
  • Produce weekly and monthly progress reports
  • Support the development of S-curves and progress visuals


Site Coordination

  • Attend site regularly to validate progress and sequencing
  • Engage with site teams to understand constraints and progress issues
  • Support short-term planning and lookahead activities


Resource & Performance Tracking

  • Assist in tracking labour and productivity outputs
  • Support development of resource histograms and forecasts
  • Analyse planned vs actual performance


Planning Support

  • Work closely with senior planners and project managers
  • Assist in identifying programme risks and delays
  • Maintain planning documentation and records


Requirements


Essential

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Exposure to Primavera P6 and/or MS Project


Desirable

  • Exposure to construction, pharma or cleanroom projects
  • Understanding of project planning principles
