THE COMPANY


Our client is a well-established and highly respected building services contractor with over 40 years experience delivering mechanical and electrical solutions across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.


Working across a wide range of sectors including Data Centres, Industrial, Logistics, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Commercial, Energy,

Manufacturing, Hospitality and High-End Residential, they provide full project delivery from design and installation through to commissioning and ongoing maintenance.


Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to join their expanding estimating team.


THE ROLE


The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates from pre-tender through to post-tender stage, ensuring all submissions are commercially robust and technically compliant.


Working closely with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors, you will play a key role in securing new business and supporting the company's continued growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Prepare accurate electrical estimates for a wide range of building services projects.
  • Produce detailed take-offs and measurements from drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare enquiries for suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate returned quotations.
  • Ensure tenders are completed accurately, consistently and within required deadlines.
  • Identify commercial, technical and construction risks within tender submissions.
  • Develop value engineering and alternative product proposals where appropriate.
  • Work closely with operational teams to review completed projects and improve estimating accuracy.
  • Maintain awareness of current market conditions, pricing trends and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to promote best practice and continuous improvement.


THE CANDIDATE


  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator.
  • Good understanding of electrical building services installations.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
