Sales Manager EMEA – Cosmetics/Personal Care
Permanent | Full-time | Germany (Home Office)
I’m supporting a mid-sized, established specialty chemicals business as they expand their EMEA sales organisation following a newly created regional gap and increasing commercial demand. This is an urgent hire, with flexibility to appoint one or potentially two Sales Managers depending on profile fit.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ownership of sales activities for a defined EMEA region (countries to be finalised)
- Management and development of direct customers and distributors
- Revenue, margin, and volume responsibility for assigned territories
- New customer acquisition and long-term relationship development
- Planning and execution of customer visits, technical workshops, trade fairs, and events
- Offer preparation, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations
- Close collaboration with internal sales support, marketing, and technical teams
- Travel requirement: approx. 30–50%, mainly Germany/DACH plus selected international trips
Background & Profile
- Degree in chemistry, life sciences, cosmetics science, or comparable scientific field
- OR business degree with strong technical sales exposure and chemical understanding
- 2–3+ years B2B sales experience (more senior profiles also welcome)
- Experience in specialty chemicals, life sciences, cosmetics, or personal care preferred
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
- Structured, independent working style and willingness to travel
- German & English required, Spanish a plus
Location & Setup
- Official location: Hamburg
- Home Office anywhere in Germany possible
- Ideally based in West or South Germany
- Quarterly presence in Hamburg, plus onboarding and trade fairs
Compensation
- €60–70k base + bonus for 2–3 years’ experience
- Up to €80–85k base for senior profiles
- Bonus of approx. €5–10k, performance-based
- Company car solution available (depending on location)
