Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) | Energy & Critical Infrastructure

Location: Fully Remote (Europe-wide) + Site Travel

I am currently representing a premier, multi-award-winning MEP consultancy that is a dominant force in the mission-critical and energy sectors. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead the building services design for some of the most significant energy infrastructure projects in Europe, including HVDC landing stations, interconnectors, and major substations.

The Opportunity: True European Flexibility

This is a rare opportunity to join a Tier-1 consultancy while enjoying a fully remote, Europe-based working model. While your projects will primarily be located in Ireland and the UK, you have the freedom to work from anywhere in Europe, with travel to sites and client meetings as required.

The Role

In this position, you aren't just designing a standard building; you are designing the critical "heart" of the energy transition. You will take ownership of the complex electrical services that keep high-voltage power installations operational.

Your Technical Remit:

• Critical Power: Lead the design of UPS systems, standby diesel generators, and DC power distribution for vital control and protection systems.
• Specialist Facilities: Deliver end-to-end electrical services for relay rooms, control buildings, and converter stations.
• Complex Coordination: Develop earthing and lightning protection strategies for high-risk environments and manage intricate containment for MV switchgear.
• Collaboration: Act as the lead building services interface, coordinating with HV specialists, utility operators, and multidisciplinary teams.

Who You Are

We are looking for a "technical heavyweight"—an engineer who thrives on the complexity of high-stakes, regulated environments.

• Experience: Circa 8+ years in Electrical Building Services. If you have a background in Data Centres, Industrial facilities, or Utility-adjacent sectors, your skills will be highly transferable.
• Specialist Skills: Proven expertise in LV/MV protection schemes and DC systems for auxiliary power distribution.
• Qualifications: Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering. Chartered status (or being on the path to it) is a distinct advantage.
• Software: Proficient in Amtech/Trimble, Dialux, and AutoCAD (Revit or ETAP experience is highly desirable).
